The Re/Discovery process starts with a quick, low cost, technology audit that paints a clear picture of your untapped potential. Then, if desired, Re/Discovery undertakes a systematic value creation model, enabling you to bring new ideas to fruition even if your in-house resources are limited:
- Technology Audit
We begin by conducting a comprehensive review of your company’s consumer needs models and technologies. Our focus is on identifying under-exploited technology potential for your Company, looking at patented, patentable, or emerging technologies that are not part of your active development portfolio. The audit includes a series of “idea expos” with your R&D group, to give them a forum for sharing ideas and new/emerging technologies that may not yet be harnessed. The inputs from these sessions are synthesized to create an Opportunity Map that captures lead technology platforms, and initial consumer-based product directions that leverage them.
- Innovation Session
Building from the Opportunity Map, the Re/Discovery group leads a multi-discipline ideation session to create a broad range of breakthrough new products that leverage the identified technology platforms. We will also include several external experts from related and unrelated categories, to ensure the team is immersed in the ‘world of possibilities’, so it can move beyond its internal culture and core competencies and think more broadly about new product opportunities. During the session, ideas that the client team judges to have the most potential are further developed and honed, resulting in 35-50 new product concepts emerging as lead candidates for further development.
- Consumer Validation
Re/Discovery optimizes the lead product concepts, through a series of qualitative research, and ultimately, quantitative screening that includes relevant category benchmarks for success. Coming out of this, a portfolio of prioritized product ideas, leveraging your existing technologies, has been defined and is ready for execution.

Using our network of resources, Re/Discovery can develop ideas to become market-ready, working independently or in conjunction with your team.
